Pediatric Nursing is a study of the basic aspects of growth and development through the life span from infant to adolescent. Pediatric Nursing is also a study of childhood disease and child care from infancy through adolescence. This study will focus on the care of the well and the ill child and will utilize the nursing process.

أهــداف الـمـقـرر*
1.To help the students identify common pediatric systemic abnormalities and to identify signs and symptoms that may enhance in providing appropriate nursing care.
To aid the nursing students in building a strong knowledge base as well as to assist with the development of critical thinking skills.
2. The course is designed to equip students with vital theories and concepts to critically analyze the health needs of pediatric patient.
3. Enhance skills of nursing student application of some nursing procedure with special focus on diseases and development.

To provide students with adequate knowledge regarding anatomy and physiology of each body system in relation to alteration and abnormalities	Student will be able to illustrate and distinguish the anatomy and physiology of an organ with abnormality in relation to present discussion	Students will be able to determine priority nursing care	To help students develop critical thinking in answering questions for examinations which are useful for future use
To help student identify clinical manifestations of certain abnormalities and to distinguish appropriate nursing intervention	Summarization of the identified clinical manifestations for effective medical and nursing management	Identification of appropriate medications and laboratory test applicable to specific patient	Student will be able to value knowledge as a tool to achieve their own goals
Students will be able to select appropriate nursing diagnosis that will guide them to formulate nursing care plan	Recognition of the importance of nursing care plan in relation tom patient care	students will be able to build professional relationship with fellow students, patients and hospital staffs	Students will be able to acquire knowledge and wisdom that they can integrate and apply to create a better nursing care to families and communities.
